The Dean of Computer Applications will be a dynamic academic leader responsible for
fostering excellence in teaching, research, and innovation. The position demands visionary
leadership to enhance academic programs, ensure high-quality education, and strengthen the
research ecosystem. The Dean will also be instrumental in driving collaborations with
industry and academia to align programs with emerging trends in technology and industry
needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Leadership:
1. Oversee and deliver high-quality teaching for Faculty of Computer Applications, ensuring
curriculum relevance and alignment with global standards and industry requirements.
2. Develop and design advanced courses of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs
in Computer Applications.
3. Promote interdisciplinary programs and research across faculties within the university.
4. Foster innovative pedagogical practices, including the integration of modern technologies, e-
learning platforms, and experiential learning.
Research and Innovation:
1. Drive research initiatives by encouraging faculty and students to engage in high-quality
research, publications, and funded projects.
2. Facilitate the establishment of research labs, centers of excellence, and collaborative research
partnerships with industry and other institutions.
Administrative Leadership:
1. Provide strategic leadership in the overall planning, budgeting, and operations of the Faculty
of Computer Applications.
2. Manage faculty recruitment, development, and performance evaluation to ensure a highly
motivated and competent team.
3. Ensure compliance with academic regulations, accreditation requirements, and quality
standards.
4. Collaborate with other deans and administrative leaders to achieve the university’s goals and
strategic vision.
Industry and Community Engagement:
1. Develop strong partnerships with industry for internships, placements, curriculum input,
research collaborations, and knowledge exchange.
2. Organize industry-academia events such as seminars, workshops, conferences, and
hackathons to keep students and faculty updated with emerging trends.
3. Encourage initiatives for skill development, certifications, and training programs to enhance
student employability and entrepreneurial skills.
Student Development:
1. Provide leadership in fostering a vibrant learning environment that prioritizes student success,
innovation, and holistic development.
2. Implement policies and programs for student mentoring, counselling, and career development.
3. Encourage co-curricular and extra-curricular activities to ensure the overall development of
students.
Qualification Requirements:
Educational Qualification: Ph.D. in Computer Applications or Computer Science &
Engineering (CSE) from a recognized university.
Experience: 15-20 years of experience in teaching, research, and academic administration.
Demonstrated experience in handling administrative responsibilities, such as Head of
Department (HOD), Dean, or similar leadership roles in higher education.
Proven track record of managing academic institutes of large scale and developing various
new programs in the domain.
