Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREA FOR THE ROLE

• Leadership and Management: As the General Manager, you are responsible for providing effective leadership and managing the overall operations of the school and residential block where 1000 rural girls and approx. 100 staff will be there. This includes setting strategic goals, developing policies and procedures, and implementing them effectively.

• Staff Management: You will be responsible for managing and supervising the staff members working in various departments of the school and residential block. This involves recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and addressing any disciplinary or personnel issues that may arise.

• Financial Management: Managing the financial aspects of the school and residential block is crucial. This includes budget planning, monitoring expenses, overseeing financial transactions, and ensuring adherence to financial policies and regulations.

• Academic Administration: Collaborating with the academic team, you will ensure the smooth functioning of the educational programs. This includes coordinating the curriculum, monitoring teaching standards, evaluating academic performance, and implementing necessary improvements.

• Student Welfare: Ensuring the well-being of the students is a key responsibility. This involves

creating a safe and conducive environment for learning, addressing student grievances, promoting discipline and good behavior, and overseeing the residential facilities and student services.

• Facilities and Infrastructure: Overseeing the maintenance and development of the school's and residential blocks facilities and infrastructure is essential. This includes managing repairs and renovations, coordinating with external contractors, and ensuring compliance with safety and building regulations.

• Communication and Public Relations: As the representative of the school, you will be responsible for maintaining effective communication with various stakeholders, including parents, staff, students, and the community. Building positive relationships and handling public relations is crucial for the school's reputation.

• Compliance and Legal Matters: Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and educational standards is essential. You will be responsible for staying updated with legal requirements, maintaining necessary documentation, and addressing any legal or regulatory issues that may arise.

• Strategic Planning: Collaborating with the school board or management, you will contribute to the development and implementation of long-term strategic plans to enhance the school's performance, reputation, and growth.

• Crisis Management: Being prepared to handle emergencies or crisis situations is important. This involves developing and implementing appropriate emergency protocols, coordinating with relevant authorities, and ensuring the safety and well-being of the students and staff.
