Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and empathetic individual to join our admissions team as an Admission Counsellor. The Admission Counsellor will be responsible for guiding prospective students through the admissions process, providing information and support to help them make informed decisions about their educational goals. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, a passion for working with students, and a commitment to promoting access to higher education.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Serve as a primary point of contact for prospective students, providing information about programs, admissions requirements, and financial aid options.
  2. Build relationships with prospective students and families through personalized communication and outreach efforts.
  3. Assist with the planning and execution of recruitment events, including college fairs, open houses, and campus tours.
  4. Coordinate with academic departments and faculty to facilitate student engagement and support retention efforts.
  5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of applicant data and admissions statistics.
  6. Collaborate with other departments, such as financial aid and student services, to provide comprehensive support to students throughout the enrolment process.
  7. This role would occupy 70% of the counsellor’s time in interaction with prospective students and 30% of their time in supporting outreach and branding related tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience (2-5 years) in admissions, counselling, or student services preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and student information systems.
  • Knowledge of admissions processes, policies, and procedures.
