Assistant / Associate Professor - Business Analytics (Job Vacancy)

Job Title: Applications are invited from the interested candidates for the position of Assistant Professor for the Department of Business Analytics, GITAM School of Business Hyderabad Campus.

Requirement

We are looking for Faculty for Department of Business Analytics Develop and deliver undergraduate and/or graduate courses in business analytics, data analysis, statistics, and related fields.

Create engaging course materials, including lectures, assignments, projects, and exams.

Use innovative teaching methods to enhance student learning, such as case studies, simulations, and real-world applications.

Provide guidance and mentorship to students, including advising on academic and career goals.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and grade students work, including work performed in design studios.
• Prepare and deliver lectures to undergraduate or graduate students and responsible for ensuring that students learn proper grammar, writing, and reading comprehension, and other courses as assigned. Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions. Guide class discussions.
• Conduct original research in business analytics, data science, machine learning, and other relevant areas.
• Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals, conferences, and other scholarly outlets.
• Collaborate with colleagues, industry partners, and students on research projects. Seek external funding through grants and contracts to support research endeavors.
• Research topics in area of expertise: Write articles, books or other original materials in area of expertise. Plan, evaluate, and revise curriculum, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction. Evaluate effectiveness of educational programs.
• Develop instructional objectives: Supervise undergraduate or graduate teaching, internship, and research work. Supervise student research or internship work.

Skillset / Professional Background Requirements:

• Experience with relevant software and programming languages such as R, Python, SQL, SAS, or MATLAB.
• Industry experience or professional certifications in business analytics, data science, or related fields.
• Familiarity with emerging trends and technologies in data analytics and business intelligence.
• Ability to engage with industry partners and contribute to applied research projects.

Education & Experience :

• PhD from Accredited University.
• Assistant professor: The candidate must possess a Ph.D. with minimum teaching experience.
• Associate professor: Minimum of 8 years of Teaching/Industry/Research experience, of which at least 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor. The candidate must have a minimum experience of 2 years after a Ph.D.
• Professor: Minimum of 8 years of Teaching/Industry/Research experience, of which at least 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor. The candidate must possess a Ph.D.
