Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Librarian Assistant
Ø Collecting and cataloguing library resources including books, publications, and e-journals.
Ø Helping students, faculty, and staff locate reference and research materials.
Ø Maintaining library records and ensuring they are up to date.
Ø Overseeing the check-out process for books, e-resources, and other resource materials.
Ø Clarifying the use of library amenities and providing information about library policies.
Ø Collaborating with faculty and students to support their research endeavours by providing access to relevant scholarly resources and research assistance. Also, assisting them in navigating academic databases, citation management tools, and other research-related technologies.
Ø Developing and maintaining research guides tailored to specific PGDM programs.
Ø Staying current with research trends in relevant business fields and informing patrons of new resources.
Education and Experience
Ø Graduation/PG in library stream.
Ø Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a public library. Experience working with students and faculty in a higher education environment is a plus.
