CEPT University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor / Associate Professor for Master of Landscape Architecture, Faculty of Architecture, CEPT University. The position is intended for individuals pursuing academic careers who have some teaching experience and whose creative work in academic study, design/research work, or professional practice, or a combination thereof, indicates that they have a promising future in their academic career. The appointment of Assistant Professor / Associate Professor is a Full time or Adjunct (for candidates engaged in practice or with other commitments running parallel) position for a three- year period but may be extended for another three-year term following a review process. The position is open to candidates from any location. Roles and Responsibilities: • To provide leadership toward the achievement of the highest possible level of excellence in the teaching, research and professional activities of the Faculty. • Teaching responsibilities will involve instruction in design studios, lecture and seminar courses in areas that support practice and design education for landscape architects. • To facilitate the management of the faculty and to oversee the functioning of running programs, and to monitor regular progress towards achieving institutional work. • To provide leadership in curriculum development, design of courses and innovations in the delivery of teaching in the discipline. • To continually improve academic standards and to make a distinguished contribution to teaching and research. • To provide the budget and planning process, with class schedules, program plans and estimates of resources needed to carry out the smooth functioning of the faculty. Minimum Eligibility Criteria for positions: For Assistant Professor position: A relevant Bachelor’s Degree: 8 years of total experience in professional practice, teaching, and research, or a combination thereof. A relevant Master’s Degree (Preferred): 5 years of total experience in professional practice, teaching, and research, or a combination thereof. A relevant Doctoral Degree (Preferred): (Those in the final stage of their PhD may also apply) For Associate Professor position: A relevant Bachelor’s Degree: 13 years of total experience in professional practice, teaching, and research, or a combination thereof, of which 5 years of teaching experience. A relevant Master’s Degree (Preferred): 10 years of total experience in professional practice, teaching, and research, or a combination thereof, of which 5 years of teaching experience. A relevant Doctoral Degree (Preferred): 5 years of total experience in professional practice, teaching, and research, or a combination thereof. Expertise & Experience Required: • Should be landscape architects who have shown special accomplishments in academic study/ industry / research through their primary academic/professional endeavours in design. • An ability to integrate new methods of teaching and mentoring with an on-going pedagogy. • In addition to technical capabilities, should have expertise in developing among students a critical understanding of the profession. • Should have the experience of curriculum development of courses and studios at various levels of the undergraduate and postgraduate program: at foundation level, at intermediate level and at the senior level. • Should be fluent in English.
