Job Title: Assistant Professor (Environmental Science)

Job Description:

• Teaching:
  • Develop and deliver undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Environmental Science, covering topics such as ecology, environmental policy, sustainability, and conservation.
  • Create and maintain course syllabi, lesson plans, and assessment materials.
  • Foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment that promotes critical thinking and scientific inquiry.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to students, including advising and supervising research projects.
• Research:
  • Conduct original research in the field of Environmental Science, leading to publications in reputable journals and presentations at conferences.
  • Seek external research funding opportunities to support research endeavors and projects.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and students on research projects.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the field and incorporate relevant findings into teaching and research.
• Service and Engagement:
  • Participate actively in departmental and university committees and activities.
  • Engage in community outreach and service projects related to environmental science.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external organizations, agencies, and stakeholders in the field.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the Environmental Science department.
• Professional Development:
  • Pursue opportunities for professional development and stay current with advancements in Environmental Science education and research.
  • Engage in scholarly activities, such as presenting at conferences and publishing research.

Qualifications:

• Ph.D./ Master’s degree with First class in Environmental Science and UGC NET Qualified with an exemplary academic record throughout
• A strong background in environmental science, with expertise in one or more specialized areas.
• A demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and a passion for educating students.
• Active engagement in research with a track record of publications and potential for securing external research funding.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Collaborative and team-oriented approach to work.
• A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching, research, and service.
• Candidate should have specialization in Environmental Science. Should be able to teach subjects related to Environment to UG and PG programs.
• Research and Practical exposure in solid waste management and Bio Technology will given preference.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 Years of Experience with UGC NET and 5 Research Paper/Publication required
