Role and Responsibilities

IKC is seeking an Assistant Professor for Interior Designing who will be responsible for teaching both core and elective courses in the B.Sc Interior Design program. The faculty member will plan and make complete preparation in advance to effectively teach both the theory and practical courses. He/She should prepare the schedule of lectures with topics, tests, assignments, demonstrations, screening of video or PowerPoint presentations, etc., in advance, and inform the students of the same. The faculty member will also be required to provide full support in organizing various events and programs on the campus.

Candidate Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position should have a first-class Master’s degree in a relevant discipline OR minimum 55% marks at Master’s Degree in M.Arch/ M. Des in Interior Design or Furniture Design with a Ph.D. NET qualification or equivalent as per UGC guidelines in relevant disciplines. Desirably, the candidate should have a Ph.D. or be pursuing one from a reputed Institute/University. A minimum of 3-5 years of Field Experience in Interior Designing Work is required, and teaching experience would add value to the position. The candidate should have publications (book/paper/any other) in reputed journals.

Software Skills Required

The ideal candidate must have knowledge and experience working with Autodesk Autocad, Indesign, Google Sketchup, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office - preferably advanced level, and familiarity working with G Suite Applications.
