Job Title: Assistant Professor of Information Technology. Department: Information Technology. Location: Amity University Patna. Position Overview: The Assistant Professor of Information Technology is a tenure-track faculty position within the Information Technology department. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in information technology, conducting research in relevant areas, publishing scholarly work, and contributing to departmental and university service activities. Key Responsibilities: *Teaching: • Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in information technology, ensuring alignment with program objectives and current industry trends. • Employ innovative teaching methods and technologies to engage students and facilitate effective learning. • Provide timely feedback and support to students to enhance their academic progress and success. • Mentor and supervise student research projects, internships, and capstone experiences. * Research: • Conduct high-quality research in information technology and related areas, leading to publications in peer-reviewed journals, conference proceedings, and other scholarly outlets. • Pursue external funding opportunities to support research initiatives and collaborate with colleagues and industry partners on interdisciplinary research projects. • Stay current with developments in information technology and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field through research and scholarship. *Service: • Participate in departmental, college, and university committees and activities. • Provide academic and career advisement to students pursuing degrees and careers in information technology. • Engage with the broader community through outreach activities, professional development workshops, and partnerships with industry stakeholders. *Professional Development: • Maintain expertise in relevant areas of information technology through continuous professional development, including attending conferences, workshops, and seminars. • Pursue opportunities for collaboration with colleagues within the university and external organizations to enhance teaching, research, and service initiatives. *Qualifications: • A Ph.D. in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited institution. • Demonstrated expertise in one or more areas of information technology, such as cybersecurity, network administration, database management, software development, or data analytics. • Strong commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service. • Evidence of scholarly productivity, including publications in reputable journals and conferences. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse academic environment. • Prior teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level is preferred. • Professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCNA, PMP) are desirable but not required.
