Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (Deemed to be University), popularly known as GITAM, was founded in 1980 by an inspired group of eminent intellectuals and industrialists of Andhra Pradesh led by M. V. V. S. Murthi, former Member of Parliament and popular philanthropist.

The vision of MAHATMA, the Father of the Nation was to see India as a socially and economically resurgent country and he looked upon education as an important means to achieve this goal. Gandhiji’s view of education was not narrow or sectarian. He envisaged universities as institutions of higher learning that transcend all linguistic, racial and other barriers. Job Title: Professor/ Associate Professor /Assistant Professor for Computer Science 

Departments:

• Computer Science - GSS

Qualification: As per AICTE Norms (PhD Mandatory).

Experience: 

Assistant professor:  The candidate must possess a Ph.D. with minimum teaching experience.

Associate professor: Minimum of 8 years of Teaching/Industry/Research experience, of which at least 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor. The candidate must have a minimum experience of 2 years after a Ph.D.

Professor: Minimum of 15 years of Teaching/Industry/Research experience, of which at least 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor. The candidate must possess a Ph.D.

Pay Scale: All short-listed candidates will be offered remuneration on par with industry.

Note:

1. Candidates should have an excellent academic record, good communication skills, and a commitment to high quality undergraduate and post graduate education and demonstrated ability to carry out original and creative research.

2. GITAM encourages interaction of the faculty with industry, other research and professional institutions. Consultancy is also encouraged at GITAM and liberal consultancy policies are in practice.

3. Facilities for research and development activities exist in all the Departments, Schools and Centers. These are being continuously modernized with contemporary equipment and services. Good facilities also exist for computing. The Institute has a well-stocked library with books, e-books, journals, reports, etc.

4. Technology business incubator hosted by the Institute, called the Venture Development Center for Entrepreneurship serves to promote technology based entrepreneurship for faculty & students.

5. Most of the day-to-day facilities are available on the Campus including two banks, a post office, a small shopping center, a well-equipped hospital (in Visakhapatnam), sports facilities and playground for field games.
