Job Description

"In-country is a British education management company that was launched in 2016 and now has a team of fifty people across India and Pakistan. We manage the South Asian student recruitment operations of multiple blue-chip international universities as well as work on creative and exciting projects for a host of others. Our New Delhi office is located in Kailash Colony.

In-country is looking to appoint a Country Manager - India to work as part of our dedicated team for our client, BIMM University.

About the Role

The Country Manager will be focused on the account management of BIMM University along with the In-country Directors as well as their dynamic India team, with a highly progressive work culture and an outstanding team spirit. This role involves the delivery of recruitment objectives in India, as well as internal and external stakeholder management, and planning and delivering activities for maximizing recruitment outcomes against a budget.

Main Duties and Accountabilities

  • To promote the Institute and counsel potential students
  • Maintain a dialogue with BIMM’s internal staff and Head of International Recruitment and Partnerships, as well as submit all enquiries through the appropriate channels.
  • Provide a marketing plan with appropriate costs for lead generation, including but not restricted to promotional events, social media management and external stakeholder engagement.
  • Oversee data capture from events and agents. Ensuring the GDPR-compliant storage and transfer of data between In-country and BIMM University. Ensuring that leads gathered from events are appropriately stored on In-country’s leads monitoring sheet and then followed up intending to convert from enquiry to application/offers to acceptance.
  • Organise itineraries for any visits from BIMM staff and accompany any visits if required, as well as arrange appropriate space for applicant interviews.
  • Inform BIMM of any recruitment and marketing opportunities or changes in the market.
  • Complete evaluation reports of any recruitment and marketing activities.
  • Build and source a network of agents, schools and partners on behalf of BIMM.
  • Represent BIMM in visits to appropriate schools, colleges and universities and actively seek out partnership opportunities.
  • Represent BIMM in visits to appropriate government agencies.
  • Undertake any other activities as agreed in writing with the Head of International Recruitment and Partnerships.
  • Ensure that only credible and genuine students should be encouraged to apply to BIMM
  • Regularly update all marketing and promotional material.
  • Attend any appropriate training including regular updates training delivered by BIMM to ensure an in-depth knowledge of the institution is maintained.

Application Process

  • Assess the potential student’s academic background and English language proficiency to be suitable for the course applied for.
  • Assess that the student or their parents/legal guardians possess sufficient funds to finance both their tuition fees and living expenses for their studies at BIMM in the UK.
  • Submit a full application form via UCAS or the Portal.
  • Collect and submit all required documentation including certified translations as specified by BIMM.
  • Ensure the potential student is aware of and attends any required interviews or auditions.
  • Promptly communicate any admissions decisions made by BIMM.

Enrolment Process

  • Ensure that the fees are paid as specified by BIMM University if a student is accepted.
  • Liaise with the Immigration and Compliance team to assist the student in completing visa documentation and obtaining a CAS, as well as successfully obtaining a student visa.
  • Communicate any visa refusals to BIMM with evidence as soon as the visa refusal is received by the students

Person specification

Essential

  • Proven track record of successfully operating within the International Education Recruitment space in India for a minimum of 3 to 5 years
  • Educated to degree level
  • Strength in verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Experience and/or appreciation of living in the UK (or a similar country) and its working culture
  • Experienced with business travel
  • Strong and detailed understanding of UK university admissions and visa processes (UKVI)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proven track record of building effective relationships
  • Experience of strategic development in the HE recruitment context across the UK and India
  • Experience in cultivating channels for recruiting overseas students, including the management of agent networks
  • Proven track record of effectively establishing partnerships, initiating projects, and engaging in collaborative activities with international organizations to achieve corporate objectives
  • Willing to undertake extensive domestic and international travel
