Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking an exceptional individual to lead a dental college as the Dean. The Dean will provide visionary leadership in academic affairs, administration, student affairs, research, and community engagement, ensuring the college's continued growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

Academic Leadership:

  • Provide visionary leadership in developing and implementing the academic vision and mission of the dental college.
  • Foster an environment that promotes excellence in teaching, research, and clinical practice.
  • Oversee curriculum development, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards and advancements in the field.

Administration and Operations:

  • Manage day-to-day operations, including budgetary oversight, resource allocation, and facilities management.
  • Collaborate with department heads and faculty to optimize performance.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.

Student Affairs:

  • Oversee student admissions, ensuring a fair and transparent process.
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Address student concerns and grievances, working towards a resolution.

Research and Innovation:

  • Encourage and support dental research initiatives.
  • Facilitate collaboration with external research institutions and industry partners.
  • Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Community Engagement:

  • Establish and maintain strong connections with the dental community, professional organizations, and stakeholders.
  • Promote community outreach programs, dental health awareness, and public education initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • A doctoral degree in dentistry (DDS/DMD) and preferably a postgraduate qualification (Master’s or PhD).
  • Extensive experience in dental education, with a proven track record of academic leadership.
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards and regulatory requirements in dental education.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
