Head of School (Job Vacancy)

Looking to hire a Head of School for a renowed educational institute in Chennai, Old Mamallapuram Road.

Candidate should have prior experience working with ICSE / IGCSE board of schools.

The Head of School is responsible for taking the vision of the school to all stakeholders of the school and making it a reality. She / He is accountable for the complete transaction of the curriculum, the academic achievement and safety of all students of the school.

Qualifications and Experience The Head of School should have:

• A post-graduate or doctoral degree in any field of expertise.
• Relevant teaching qualifications like a diploma or degree in education.
• Academic experience, including teaching in a quality school setting of repute.
• Experience in leadership positions, with a proven track record of excellence.

The responsibilities of the Head of School will include but not limited to - Academic Leadership and Learning Management

1. Inspirational Mentorship
   • Be an inspiring role model for the teachers and students.
   • As an academic leader, mentor teachers to be facilitators of active learning, motivating them to aspire for excellence.
   • Mentor teachers to evolve into reflective practitioners and encourage them to aspire for excellence.
2. Development of knowledge and capabilities
   • Stay abreast of developments in the field of education, both in India and globally.
   • Research, develop, and bring in educational opportunities to the school in order to expand awareness, enhance education and broaden the curriculum and knowledge base.
3. Curriculum Development
   • Ensure that all the curricular and co-curricular programs are in line with the school’s vision, motto and philosophy.
   • Be the school’s representative to the International Board. Implement all the requirements of the International Board and ensure total compliance with all norms set out by the International Board.
4. Curriculum Delivery
   • Delegate and oversee the work of all teachers for all subjects and grade levels across the entire school, for effective delivery of the curriculum, including that prescribed by the International Board for Pre-primary and Primary.
   • Allocate teaching periods and workload equitably to all teachers.
5. Focus on Standards and Practices
   • Ensure that the school’s standards are commensurate with highest standards in the space of education, both nationally and globally.
   • Be sensitive to students’ developmental norms and unique needs during all stages of childhood and adolescence. Sensitize the team of teachers to the same.

Day- to- Day Management

• Ensure that the necessary systems and standard operating procedures are in place for academic functions of the School.
• Roll out the necessary plans and programs to facilitate day to day management of the School.
• Manage all academic and co-curricular programs of the School as per plans, by building and working with an efficient and effective team of teaching, administrative and support staff.
