Job Description:
New York Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Homeroom Teacher for the Primary Years Programme (PYP). The ideal candidate will play a key role in providing a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young learners, fostering their holistic development and academic growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary educator and mentor for a designated homeroom class within the Primary Years Programme (PYP).
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that align with the PYP curriculum framework and educational objectives.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes active participation, inquiry-based learning, and student-centered teaching practices.
- Develop individualized learning plans and assessments to cater to the diverse needs and learning styles of students.
- Establish open and effective communication channels with students, parents, and colleagues to foster collaboration and partnership in education.
- Implement classroom management strategies that promote positive behavior, mutual respect, and a safe learning environment.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing timely feedback and support to facilitate academic growth and personal development.
- Participate in professional development activities and collaborative planning sessions with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and curriculum delivery.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Education or related field.
- PYP certification or training is highly desirable.
