Recruitment of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a DAE – BRNS sponsored Research Project

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for a post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to carry out research studies under the following research project sanctioned by the Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences (BRNS), Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India.

Project Title: Vacuum photodiode detectors for broadband vacuum ultraviolet detection in ADITYA-U tokamak (Sanction Number: 57/14/03/2022-BRNS)

Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Responsibilities:

Perform research work on the aforementioned position. The work would be at UPES, Dehradun, as well as at the Institute for Plasma Research (IPR), Gandhinagar.

Appointment will be initially for one year and extendable for the second year after a review. The selected candidate will be enrolled for Ph.D.* at UPES, Dehradun under the Principal Investigator (*as per UPES norms).

Qualifications

Minimum Eligibility (Mandatory): M.Sc. in Physics with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade.

Desirable: Active NET (UGC/CSIR JRF)/GATE/Inspire qualification. Experience in experimental spectroscopy/plasma devices.

Age: Candidates should not be more than 28 years of age on the closing date of the advertisement. Upper age limit is relaxed up to 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC/ Women/ Differently abled/ Ex-Serviceman candidates.

Emoluments: Rs. 37000/- per month (fixed) + HRA as per DAE – BRNS norms.

Applicant’s academic record, overall understanding and research interest will be the key factors for consideration of the application.
