Junior Research Fellow (Department of Civil Engineering) (Job Vacancy)

Applications are invited from high caliber, enthusiastic and research-oriented candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) (01 in No.) in a joint research project of TIET Patiala and IIT Indore entitled “Technology Dissemination of Compressed Colored Composite for a wide range of products to support sustainable rural infrastructure” sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.

About the project: The project aims to introduce a new segment of colored products made by sustainable construction materials as an alternate to cementitious/ stone-built/ wooden or plastic products using the developed technology of coloured compressed composite at IIT Indore. Our research group has already demonstrated the technology application for brick manufacturing industries. Now, we want to extend the technology application to a wider range of products in household furniture, pre-cast building products, and pavement products.

Essential Qualification: Graduation or Post-graduation in any Engineering Discipline or Post-graduation in Basic Science. Candidate must have qualified GATE/ NET in the relevant area.

Desirables: The candidate should possess a good knowledge of material science or technology. Additionally, candidates with good exposure to polymer chemistry/ geopolymers/ concrete/ waste utilization in construction materials are highly encouraged to apply.

Monthly Stipend: Consolidated Rs. 37,000 per month and HRA as per the funding agency norms.

Duration: Initial appointment is for one year, which is extendable further based on performance up to the project duration. Selected candidate may be considered for admission to Ph.D. Program as a regular full-time scholar at TIET Patiala as per Institute norms.
