About The Research Lab:
Opto-Biomedical Microsystem (OBMS) Laboratory is a research and development laboratory located in Raurkela and is an integral part of the Department of Biotechnology and Medical Engineering, National Institute of Technology Rourkela. The lab is focused on developing instruments for biomedical applications including screening, diagnosis, monitoring, and point-of-care diagnostics. OBMS also focuses on image and signal analysis for drug screening and testing. The lab further focuses on the fabrication of microfluidic devices.
Essential Qualification:
1. All throughout first class (i.e., 6.5 CGPA or 60% marks).
2. MSc/B.Tech. with valid GATE score; OR
3. Μ.Ε./M.Tech./M.Pharm. in relevant field with a GATE/GPAT at any point of the career
3. ME/ MTech / MPharm in relevant discipline with at least 6.5 CGPA or 60% marks; OR MSc in Basic Sciences/BE/B.Tech. with CGPA 7.0 or 65% marks in relevant disciplines.
Qualification in any of the following subjects: Applied Physics, BM, BT, IN, EE, EC, CS, DA, ME, XE, Physics,

Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Junior Research Fellow (2 years-1 Years SRF) at OBMS Laboratory. The successful candidate will be expected to work on developing and testing instruments for biomedical applications, microfluidic devices, and image and signal analysis. They will also be responsible for conducting research and publishing results.

5. Candidates with B.Sc./ Integrated M.Sc. background should have mathematics in B.Sc./ first 6 semesters of Integrated BM, CS , EC, EE, XE, IN, XL, MA, ME, PH, PI, TF, ST, DA
6. Acceptable GATE specialization: AG, BT, BM, CH 7. All educational qualifications / certificates shall be from the recognized Board / University.
Job Description:
1. Performing day-to-day project-related laboratory activities
2. The selected candidate is expected to register for PhD at NIT Rourkela subject to fulfilment of Institute eligibility criteria for PhD admission
