Librarian in Rajkot (Job Vacancy)

The librarian is responsible for managing and organizing the library's resources, providing assistance to library patrons, and promoting a love for reading and learning. This position requires a strong passion for books, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work well with diverse groups of people.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the library's collection of books, magazines, and other materials, ensuring they are properly cataloged and shelved.
• Assist library patrons in finding and accessing the resources they need.
• Provide guidance and support to library users in utilizing library services, including online databases and research tools.
• Plan and organize library programs and events, such as book clubs, author visits, and educational workshops.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders to promote library services and programs.
• Stay up-to-date with current trends in library science and technology, and implement new technologies to enhance library services.
• Manage the library's budget, including purchasing new materials and equipment.
• Train and supervise library staff and volunteers.
• Ensure the library's physical space is clean, organized, and welcoming to patrons.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field with B.Ed.
• Previous experience working in a library or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of library systems and procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in using library software and online databases.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Passion for reading and promoting literacy.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
