Who are we looking for:

We are currently seeking a passionate educator to join our team as a dedicated MYP Visual Arts Teacher, working with children in the Middle Years Programme, as part of our continued growth and development efforts. Hiring for the Academic Year 2024, the ideal candidate must be organized, and capable of fostering innovative and engaging learning experiences within available resources. Creating a holistic, inquiry-based environment, the candidate will instil thoughtful and ethical behaviour, ensuring the IB Learner profile values guide the heart of learning in our school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement challenging and engaging lessons in alignment with the IB MYP framework.
  • Design diverse approaches for units of Inquiry that promote Attributes to Learning.
  • Design and implement formative and summative assessments aligned with IB MYP assessment criteria.
  • Conduct formative and summative assessments according to Subject guidelines.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and fair assessment approach across the MYP.
  • Ensure alignment of all school policies and practices with the IB Standards and Practices.
  • Collaborate with the IB Coordinator to plan and bring out best classroom practices.
  • Promote a culture of Inclusion and Diversity amongst all stakeholders of the community.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay informed about the current trends in education.
  • Collaborate and network with educators to share insights and enhance teaching practices.
  • Be an active advocate for Lady Andal School’s vision and core aims.
  • Foster a positive classroom culture that values inquiry, critical thinking and intercultural understanding.
  • Be an active part of all events conducted by and in the school.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master’s degree in the relevant field.
  • A bachelor’s degree in education will be an added benefit.
  • Proven experience as a high school Visual Arts teacher.
  • Demonstrated expertise in curriculum planning, assessment and ATL integration.
  • Commitment to promoting international-mindedness and the IB learner profile.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in an IB school would be an added benefit.
  • Be a subject expert in the required field.

Additional Information:

  • Job location is in Chetpet, Chennai. This is an on-site job.
  • School timings are from 7.30 am to 3.00 pm.
  • A laptop will be provided for school use only.
