Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Conduct of Examination
  • Send syllabus and test/semester exam schedule to parents
  • Ensure syllabus is completed before the stipulated date for all units, cyclic tests and semester exams
  • Conduct checks and review of question papers for reliability and validity
  • Follow-up of result analysis and reporting to Principal/ Vice Principal

Co-curricular Activities

  • Participate and co-ordinate any activities to be organized within and outside GIIS for students and staff

Time Table and Teacher Management

  • Planning & Monitoring of time table and placement of Teachers according to requirements
  • Work out expected teaching staff strength and Teachers’ requirement in the various levels in advance for the next semester.
  • Provide comments and recommendation for improvements during performance appraisals.
  • Check note book correction work of Teachers.
  • Moderation of notebooks to be completed and returned to the students by every week before the cyclic test.
  • Assist in planning of school calendar
  • Check language of report cards to be issued along with Vice Principal/Principal.
  • Organize extra and Support classes for High /Gifted & low achievers.
  • Enforce discipline through code of conduct among Teachers and students.
  • Organize cultural programs, sports day and annual prize giving functions etc.
  • Responsible for overseeing all activities which pertain to the progression of the students from one Level to the next.
  • Assist in selection process of Teachers.

Orientation of New Staff

  • Arrange orientation/workshops for new teachers in order to familiarize them with GIIS culture; school policies, systems and instructional goals.
  • Improve quality of instructions through meetings and consultations.
  • Ensure assignments have been given, corrected and returned on time with appropriate follow up work.
  • Co-ordinate the formulation of lesson plans by various teachers and getting it approved by the Principal.
  • Ensure curriculum is fully covered and provide assistance to the members of the teaching staff in solving problems.
  • Motivate teachers to accept the responsibility for self-development and creativity

Resource Management

  • Establishing resource needs in general.
  • Preparation of text books/worksheets to be approved by the Vice Principal/Principal.
  • Preparation of in-house instructional material if required.
