Program Associate (Job Vacancy)

The Organization

Pudiyador (“anew” in Tamil) is an education-driven child and family organization that caters to disadvantaged communities in Chennai, India. Our goal is to equip children and their families with experiences and opportunities that will empower them and their communities to break the cycle of generational poverty. Pudiyador runs multiple programs. One such pan-India program is Playquity.

At Playquity, we are committed to building equity through play by challenging gender roles and promoting a "Girls First" model. We recognize that girls and women, especially in developing countries, face gender-biased attitudes and practices that perpetuate their marginalization. By prioritizing girls, we aim to bring about transformative change not only for them but also for boys and their community.

The Role

This is a full-time remote role for a Program Associate at Pudiyador. The Program Associate will be responsible for day-to-day tasks including program management, conducting research, and utilizing analytical skills. They will also be responsible for effective communication and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily field and partner operations
• Assist with curriculum development with coaches, nuances and challenges of the program
• General support/supervision
• Complete Monitoring & Evaluation of Program Operations
• Special projects: Curriculum development, training, budgeting, communications & development
• Social media and outreach

Qualifications & Background

• Desire and willingness to work in tight knit start-up NGO environment
• Ability to travel to Playquity program sites
• Basic understanding of rural community development
• Alignment with and passion for Playquity's mission
• Ability to communicate in written and verbal English
• No prior experience required

Preference

• Interest + experience with Ultimate Frisbee
• Knowledge of Tamil
