About The Catholic Education Office

The Catholic Education Office (CEO) provides corporate services to the CECG system of schools and ELCs. Service Areas include Education and Performance Improvement, Catholic Identity, School and Family Services, Strategy and Special Projects, Finance and Infrastructure, Information and Communication Technology and People and Culture.

About The Role

The position of People and Culture, Recruitment Officer sits in the People and Culture Service Area. People and Culture is responsible for the provision of human resource services, including payroll, work health and safety, employee and industrial relations, HR business partnership and recruitment, and HR operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform recruitment functions, including advertising vacancies, notification of recruitment outcomes, and provision of advice to the CEO and system of schools and ELCs across ACT and NSW;
• Be responsible for managing a recruitment caseload, which includes the provision of care to candidates, seeking information from nominated referees, and dealing with external providers;
• Work across multiple platforms, applications, and databases;
• Interpret and apply employment legislation, industrial instruments and policy.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications or experience working in a complex human resources environment
• Current working with children registration/clearance
• Current driver’s licence.

Selection Criteria

• Demonstrated high-level stake-holder and customer service focus, including timely and accurate service provision
• Demonstrated capacity to manage competing deadlines in a high-volume transactional environment
• Ability to interpret and apply employment legislation
• Relevant and current experience in a large-scale organisation providing business-critical recruitment services to customers and clients, or an education setting using a recruitment management system and other HR information and records management systems
• Analytical and diagnostic skills with the ability to work with databases
