Role Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Editor to join our content marketing team and oversee the production and publication of content, as well as train and manage junior members of our editorial team.

As a Senior Editor, you will be in charge of proofreading content pieces, improving their clarity, accuracy, and overall quality, and ensuring consistency in style and tone. You will report to the head of the content department and contribute to developing content strategies for internal and external use.

Our ideal candidate is a great communicator with previous experience in content production and editing.

Responsibilities

• Working together to provide interesting instructional content with writers and specialists. Lead author management by offering direction and support all the way through the publishing process. Have meetings with authors to discuss project updates and solicit feedback
• To revise front list CBSE title while taking the recommendations from NEP 2020 and NCF 2023 into consideration
• Working on front list CBSE titles in liaison with authors, edited manuscripts, handled books individually and taken them through all stages of development till handover to production
• To Map, grade and revise books in accordance with latest NCERT pedagogy and syllabus
• Helping team in creating USPs for new titles, in view of latest NCERT circulars and New Education Policy draft
• Helping editorial team in making stylesheet elements and providing cover design ideas to designing team
• To look after the customization of titles and special projects, and edited backlist titles in accordance to the demand of a particular state/national board of education or chain schools
• Proofread and peer-reviewed books for other editors in the team
• Managing editorial processes for content development, copyediting, and proofreading, ensuring high-quality standards
• Streamlining editorial workflows to improve efficiency and reduce turnaround times
• Collaborating with design and production teams to ensure a seamless publishing process
• To provide Product Training on a national level

Qualification & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field
• 5+ years of Editing experience
• Ability to adapt the tone and style to a particular audience’s sensitivity
• Outstanding grammar, spelling, punctuation, and written language skills
• Experience with Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.
• Excellent communication skills
