About the Role:
The Editor is responsible for ensuring language correctness in accordance with specified guidelines and style guide. We are looking for someone who feels excited about working with a tightly knit team of passionate people to deliver the best quality of educational content within limited timelines impacting lakhs of students and thousands of teachers across the country.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Editorial development of content and supplemental learning materials in print and digital form
o (Editorial development includes generating content ideas; researching and coordinating editorial ideas;
developing style guide for projects; developmental editing, copyediting and proofreading content;
coordinating writing and editing assignments, reviewing acquired content, and ensuring compliance to
local and global editorial standards and curriculum frameworks)
Performing deadline-driven quality assurance checks and reviews of manuscripts edited by SMEs and freelancers to ensure that poorly worded sentences have been edited for better readability and clarity and user requirements are adhered to and subject-specific conventions are followed.
Interacting with talented freelance SMEs and editors from around the country and proactively providing feedback on their editing assignments
Preparation of QA/QC guidelines and checklists for various products
Periodical training and development of editorial and content teams
Managing pipeline of projects through planning, resource allocation, scheduling and tracking of work progress
Understanding user and industry requirements and adapting the approach accordingly
Qualifications Required:
Graduate/Post Graduate in Social Science.
Coursework in Editing would be a plus.
Experience Required:
3-5 years’ experience as a copyeditor; experience in teaching and/or experience creating content would be an advantage.
Skills Needed:
Knowledge of computers, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, good typing and formatting skills
Fluency in English – flawless written and communication skills
Accuracy, tidiness and unparalleled attention to detail
Willingness to interact proactively with in-house and virtual colleagues
Openness to feedback
Ability to resolve issues proactively; critique of self and others with kindness and compassion and a preference for healthy striving as opposed to a perfectionist attitude
Familiarity with pedagogy and school curriculum
