We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Educator to join our team as a Pre-School Special Educator. As a Special Educator, you will be responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to children with special needs in a pre-school setting.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, focusing on their unique strengths and challenges.
- Provide direct instruction to students, utilizing evidence-based teaching strategies and accommodations to meet their individual learning goals.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and other professionals to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
- Assess students' progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies accordingly to ensure their academic and social-emotional growth.
- Utilize assistive technology and adaptive materials to enhance students' access to the curriculum.
- Support students in developing their social skills, communication abilities, and independence.
- Work closely with parents and guardians to provide regular updates on students' progress and involve them in the educational process.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices in special education.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to special education.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education.
- Prior experience working with pre-school-aged children with special needs.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs.
