Job Description: English Teacher
Position Overview:
The English Teacher is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing an appropriate instructional program that facilitates learning and encourages student engagement in the subject of English. They create a positive learning environment, assess student progress, and provide constructive feedback to promote academic growth. The English Teacher collaborates with colleagues, parents, and administrators to support the overall educational goals of the institution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and educational objectives.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to engage students in active learning and promote critical thinking skills.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters respect, collaboration, and a love for English language and literature.
- Assess student learning through ongoing formative assessments, quizzes, projects, and standardized tests.
- Provide timely feedback to students on their academic progress and offer support and guidance as needed.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students and accommodate various learning styles.
- Incorporate technology into lesson plans to enhance instruction and facilitate learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum, share best practices, and participate in professional development opportunities.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and academic performance.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and assignments.
- Participate in faculty meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school events as required.
- Stay updated on current trends, research, and best practices in English education.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or related field and B.Ed is mandatory.
- Minimum of 5 year of working experience of teaching in premier residential, international CBSE Schools.
- Proven experience teaching English at the secondary level preferred.
- Strong knowledge of English language, literature, grammar, and writing conventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively manage a classroom and create a positive learning environment.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to collaborate with colleagues.
