Job Overview: As a Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) specializing in Geography, you will be responsible for educating students in the subject of Geography following the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) curriculum. You will design lesson plans, deliver lectures, assess student progress, and create a stimulating learning environment to foster intellectual and personal growth.

Responsibilities

• Curriculum Development: Develop comprehensive lesson plans aligned with the CBSE curriculum for Geography.
• Classroom Instruction: Deliver engaging lectures, lead discussions, and facilitate activities to promote student understanding of geographical concepts.
• Assessment: Design and administer assessments, including tests, quizzes, and projects, to evaluate student progress and comprehension.
• Individualized Instruction: Provide additional support to students who require extra assistance in understanding Geography concepts.
• Classroom Management: Maintain a well-organized and disciplined classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Parent Communication: Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and academic concerns.
• Professional Development: Stay updated on educational trends, teaching methodologies, and subject matter developments through workshops, seminars, and professional literature.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary lesson plans and coordinate school-wide activities.
• Extra-curricular Activities: Participate in and/or supervise extra-curricular activities related to Geography, such as geography clubs, field trips, and competitions.
• Student Support: Provide guidance and counseling to students regarding academic and career choices, as well as personal development.
• Administrative Tasks: Complete administrative duties such as maintaining records, attending staff meetings, and participating in school events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
• B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) degree
• Qualified CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) or equivalent state-level teaching eligibility test is preferred.
• Previous teaching experience, preferably in a CBSE-affiliated school, is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of Geography concepts, including physical geography, human geography, and regional geography.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Proficiency in technology-enhanced teaching tools and resources.
• Dedication to continuous professional development and improvement in teaching practices.
