Job Description: SAT Faculty

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SAT Faculty member to join our educational institutions team. As an SAT Faculty member, you will play a crucial role in preparing high school1 amp; 2 students for success in the Scholastic Assessment Test SAT, a pivotal exam for college admissions in many countries. Your expertise in testtaking strategies, subject matter, and teaching methodologies will empower students to achieve their best possible scores and unlock opportunities for higher education.

Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Development:
  • Design and develop a comprehensive curriculum that covers all sections of the SAT, including Critical Reading, Writing and Language, and Math.
  • Create instructional materials, lesson plans, and practice exams that align with the current SAT format and content.
  • Classroom Instruction:
  • Deliver engaging and interactive classroom lessons to small groups of students, focusing on effective strategies for tackling various question types and content areas.
  • Utilize various teaching methods, such as lectures, discussions, group activities, and multimedia resources, to cater to diverse learning styles.
  • TestTaking Strategies:
  • Provide expert guidance on time management, question prioritization, elimination techniques, and other effective strategies for maximizing scores.
  • Offer insights into common pitfalls, test anxiety management, and confidencebuilding techniques to boost student performance.
  • Individualized Support:
  • Conduct oneonone sessions with students to address their unique learning needs and challenges.
  • Offer personalized feedback on practice exams and assignments, identifying areas of improvement and providing actionable recommendations.
  • Progress Monitoring:
  • Regularly assess student performance through quizzes, mock exams, and other evaluation methods to track their progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Analyze test results to identify trends and adjust instructional approaches for continuous improvement.
  • Student Engagement and Motivation:
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation, critical thinking, and enthusiasm for learning.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to students, helping them set goals and develop effective study habits.
  • Professional Development:
  • Stay updated on changes to the SAT exam, testing trends, and educational best practices to ensure the curriculum remains relevant and effective.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, workshops, and training sessions to enhance teaching skills and share insights with colleagues.
  • Communication:
  • Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues to address concerns, provide progress updates, and offer support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Education, English, Mathematics, or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the SAT exam format, content, and scoring criteria.
  • Proven experience in teaching andor tutoring high school students, preferably in SAT preparation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enthusiasm for education and a passion for helping students succeed.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs.
  • Organizational skills to manage curriculum development, student assessments, and progress tracking.
  • Familiarity with educational technology and resources for enhancing instruction.
